WELCOME TO DSWA!

We invite you to explore the full spectrum of programs and facilities that we offer. DSWA is a leader in the field of solid waste management and is recognized nationally and internationally for its standard of excellence. Visitors, worldwide, come to Delaware to “see how it’s done”. We are particularly proud of our people and “Team DSWA”, which provide the highest level of service to our customers. We are committed to constantly increase the diversion, beneficial use and recycling of materials to minimize disposal requirements.

January 2008 was especially significant as DSWA implemented a statewide single-stream recycling program featuring carts for commingling the single- stream recyclables and automating our collection service. This is another example of DSWA’s response to the public in providing a curbside recycling service that is convenient and easy to use. In combination with local government partnerships and public outreach efforts, we literally doubled our subscription curbside recycling service within a few months. We’re now pleased to report that we serve about 30,000 households statewide.

Our partnership with the private hauling industry is equally strong and important to us. Our current business model and pricing structure for curbside recycling now provide greater incentives for the private hauling industry to offer curbside recycling services in addition to trash disposal. We welcome this competition and are pleased that Delawareans have more recycling options available to them.

We are committed to increase our recycling efforts and to explore economic incentives in our quest to achieve higher recycling goals. We are confident that Delawareans will do their part to make Delaware a leader in recycling.
