Educational Resources

DSWA believes in educating both children and adults about waste management issues. We all make trash. Learning how to make less and safely manage the rest will help us become responsible citizens.

One of the most public ways DSWA reaches Delaware school children is through its Earth Day Festival. Children can come learn about various environmental issues, often with hands-on demonstrations.

DSWA Literature

DSWA has many brochures and other literature available.  For a list of materials, see Publications.

Facility Tours

Tours of DSWA landfills and other facilities are available to the public or school groups. Please contact our Public Information Group at 1-800-404-7080 for more information.

Trash Can Dan

A character created by DSWA to help spread the word about waste management. "Trash Can Dan" can be seen at special events like the DSWA's Earth Day Festival and Delaware State Fair.

Resources for Teachers

DSWA has developed many educational materials to teach children about solid waste management.
