Recycling Centers

Before heading to the facility, a few quick tips can help your visit go smoothly:

Before You Arrive

• Secure your load — all materials should be safely contained
• Separate materials by type (recycling, electronics, etc.)
• Check collection days/times for special materials

When You Arrive

• Pull into the designated drop-off area
• Staff are available to assist and direct you to the correct locations
• Customers should be prepared to unload their own materials, as staff are not able to assist with unloading
• Place materials in the appropriate containers
• Follow all posted signs and staff instructions

Before You Leave

• Double check that all materials were placed in the correct areas
• No payment is required for standard recycling services

Important to Know

• All services are FREE for Delaware residents
• DSWA facilities accept materials generated within Delaware only, out-of-state material is not accepted
• Some materials are only accepted on specific days/times

Everyday Recycling

• Single Stream Recycling
  
  • Paper, cardboard, plastic bottles & containers, glass bottles & jars, aluminum and steel cans
    (No sorting required — place all recyclables together)
• Styrofoam (at select locations)
  
  • Clean foam cups, plates, egg cartons, takeout containers, and packaging materials

Electronics Recycling

Accepted items include:

• Computers and laptops
• TVs and monitors
• Printers
• Telephones
• Gaming systems and other electronics

Available multiple days per week (varies by location)

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Safely dispose of items such as:

• Oil-based paints
• Household chemicals
• Fluorescent bulbs
• Cleaning products

Available on designated days each week

Document Shredding

• Confidential paper shredding services
• Offered once per month

Latex Paint Collection

• Latex paint is accepted for recycling
• Offered once per month at designated times
